Bobcat CT1025 vs CT2025: Same Engine Class, Very Different Tractors
The CT1025 and CT2025 both make 24.5 HP, but one lifts 700 lb on the 3-point hitch and the other lifts 1,631 lb. Specs and current prices side by side from our Collins, MS Bobcat dealership.
On paper the CT1025 and the CT2025 look like the same tractor. Both are 24.5 HP diesels, both are 4WD, both turn a 540 rpm PTO. The difference is everything the horsepower number does not tell you, and it is the reason we steer a lot of buyers up a size.

What the weight difference means in the field
The CT2025 weighs about 1,100 lb more than the CT1025. That is not a luxury. A tractor that light has to be ballasted before it will hold a loaded implement down, and a tractor that heavy sits flat on a box blade or a tiller. The longer wheelbase also keeps the front end calmer when you are pushing against a load.
The 3-point lift tells the same story. At 700 lb, the CT1025 is built for light implements: a tine rake, a small box blade, a 48-inch tiller. At 1,631 lb, the CT2025 lifts the 60 and 72 inch box blades, tillers and rakes Bobcat lists for it, which is where most property work actually gets done.
Where the CT1025 still wins
It is the cheaper machine, it is faster on the road, and at 1,521 lb it is the easier of the two to trailer and store. If you are mowing a few acres, moving mulch and grading a driveway once in a while, you are paying for capacity you will not use on the larger machine.
The attachments that decide it
Look at what you plan to put on the back. Bobcat's fitment list gives the CT1025 a 48 inch box blade and a 48 inch tiller. The CT2025 gets the 60 inch box blade, the 72 inch box blade, the 60 inch tiller and the 72 inch tiller. If those wider tools are on your list, you have your answer.
Bottom line
Pick the CT1025 for a small place and light work. Pick the CT2025 if the place is bigger, the work is heavier, or you would rather not outgrow the tractor in two years. Both are priced on our site today, and you can see the CT2025 on its own in our Bobcat CT2025 price breakdown.
